Dr. James Wu
Chief Technology Officer
Dr. James Wu has over 18 years of experience in the software industry. He serves as Chief Technology Officer at BroadVision and currently is responsible for product management of BroadVision products.
Dr. Wu is a founding member of BroadVision OnDemand, an off-shore development center in Beijing. Over the last three years, he led the research and development of BroadVision SaaS platform and developed on-shore/off-shore development methodology for the company. Dr. Wu joined BroadVision in 1996.
He has been the key architect behind almost every major BroadVision product. He began as a Software Architect of BroadVision's flagship product, One-To-One Enterprise. He invented and productized the multi-layer cache technology for One-To-One Enterprise, which significantly improved the performance of many successful e-Commerce web sites. Subsequently, he became an Engineering Director, managing the core development of One-To-One Commerce. As VP of Technology, Dr. Wu oversaw the development of the state-of-the-art eBusiness platform. Dr. Wu led the team to create an innovative multi-tenant platform, which becomes the foundation of Clearvale product.
Prior to BroadVision, Dr. Wu was an Engineering Manager at Renaissance Software, a subsidiary of SunGard Financial Systems. Before Renaissance, he was a Database Architect at Persistence Software, which is a technology company pioneering in the development of Object-Oriented databases.
He holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from State University of New York at Stony Brook and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University. Dr. Wu's research in object-oriented and deductive databases has published in prestigious Computer Science journals, such as JACM and ACM SIGMOD.
